Long-Term Recovery Program

Where Recovery Happens

At The Healing Place of New Hanover County (THPNC), we believe in providing a supportive environment for individuals on their journey to recovery. Our approach is centered on holistic healing, addressing both the physical aspects of addiction as well as the emotional and social factors that contribute to it. We understand that recovery is a unique and personal journey for each individual, which is why we offer personalized care and support every step of the way.

CONTINUING CARE

Once a client completes the long-term recovery program, he or she can choose to become a Peer Mentor. Peer Mentors volunteer to serve as leaders and role models for those who are newer in the program. Peer Mentors teach classes, monitor assignments, coordinate job assignments, and work one-on-one with individuals moving through the recovery process. They demonstrate The Healing Place of New Hanover County’s philosophy: the best solution is one individual reaching back to help another on the journey to recovery.

All clients who complete our program receive support and assistance from our continuing care staff, including help with finding employment, housing, and navigating legal and medical issues.
